Sliding Rock at Highway 276, Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.

Ice cold mountain water running over a large piece of granite makes for some cool mountain fun. This is not a kiddie slide. I'm talking 60 - 70 feet long.. And the natural formed pool at the bottom...SPLASH !!! Takes your breath for just a second. Best to wear cut off blue jeans over your swim suit. The granite surface will wear holes in your swim suit after just a few runs. Lifeguards on duty during the day, (summer only). There is a small fee to park, usually so much a car. Expect crowds during the summer months especially weekends... They have bathroom and changing facilities onsite. Also observation decks so you can watch. WARNING... DO NOT park along the highway in the no parking areas or your vehicle will get towed....

We didn't go in because weather wasn't hot enough for icy water slide but it looked fun
